Counselling offers an experience of someone being there for you, and provides a warm, safe space where you can bring anything you want without any judgement.  All feelings and thoughts are welcome into our space. It may help you to come to terms with both what you have lost, or what you may never have had and this can help you free yourself from the ‘ought’s’ and ‘shoulds’ that do not belong to you, allowing you to notice the difference between what you were made to believe about yourself and who you really are.

 

The relationship between counsellor and client is equal, except I have a responsibility as a counsellor to keep you safe, and everything in the session will be private and confidential, and I will discuss full details with you in our initial session.

 

When you have a safe space to be acknowledged and heard with respect and without judgement, you can then begin to work through difficult experiences, undo the conditions of the past and feel empowered.  Therapy is not an easy journey, this process of reflection, of discovering your true self, is often painful but allows you to develop your ability to be in touch with your feelings.  I will walk with you side by side as you embark on it with you leading the pace.

 

Counselling is not an advice service and I cannot provide you with the answers.  But through my unconditional acceptance of you as an individual you can begin to access your own inner resources, giving you freedom and awareness to find your own answers, trust yourself and live a life authentic to you.
